Students at the University of Findlay were recently honored at "A Night Among the Stars." The campus event was sponsored by UF's Office of Student Activities, Commuter Services and Leadership Development.

Students at the University of Findlay recently participated in the 2018 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition. Any UF student was eligible to enter artwork for consideration. Categories included painting, drawing and mixed media, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, design, digital photography, film photography and visual communication.

Students at the University of Findlay recently participated in the Innovative Leadership Challenge. The competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their business skills. Participants chose from one of three categories to compete: Innovative Leadership, Innovative Business and Student Organization Case Study.

The history, law and gender studies faculty at the University of Findlay recently announced the 2018 initiates into the Xi-Sigma Chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. Phi Alpha Theta is an honor society dedicated to the promotion of the study of history. Founded in 1921, the organization encourages research, publication, and the exchange of ideas among students, teachers and writers.

Students at the University of Findlay were recently awarded a Town and Campus Scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year. Town and Campus, formed in 1960 at (then) Findlay College, strives to support the students of the University of Findlay by generously donating their time, talents and resources to UF.

Students at the University of Findlay recently participated in the annual Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity. Held on campus, undergraduate and graduate students were given the opportunity to share their research, creativity and professional learning experiences with the University and community.

The University of Findlay Concert-Chorale and University Singers recently presented their annual spring concert. The "Birds in Spring" repertoire included various choral music about birds and love. Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story" was performed in celebration of the composer's 100th birthday. The performance was conducted by SeaHwa Jung, director of choral activites and assistant professor of music at UF.

The University of Findlay Jazz Ensemble recently performed "Jazz - Where You Least Expect It!" for the annual spring concert in Winebrenner Theological Seminary's TLB Auditorium.

UF students were selected to perform in the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductor's Association's (OPCICA) All-State Collegiate Band and Jazz Ensemble on Jan. 20-21. The event was hosted at the College of Wooster. Jack Taylor, UF professor of music and director of bands, was one of the directors of the All-State Jazz Ensemble.

University of Findlay Habitat for Humanity students recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend Habitat on the Hill, the organization's international legislative conference.

The University of Findlay is currently hosting the annual Senior Art Exhbition. The exhibition will be held through Feb. 22 in the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery, located in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion. A reception will be held Sunday, Feb. 18 from 1-3 p.m. in the gallery.

The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble recently performed "East Meets West." The annual winter pops concert was conducted by Jack Taylor, University professor of music.
